How to manually install WordPress on Hostinger hpanel?

 

To manually install WordPress on Hosting hpanel you need to follow these 4 simple steps:

  1. Download WordPress files from wordpress.org
  2. Upload the files in the file manager of Hostinger
  3. Create a new Database
  4. Connect Database with the WordPress you installed

Here you go! Ready to build a new website now.

 

1. Download WordPress files from wordpress.org

You need to go the website – https://wordpress.org/
Click on “GET WORDPRESS” button, and it will start your WordPress files download.

2. Upload the files in the file manager of Hostinger

  • Go to your Hostinger account and login.
  • Once you login, click on websites on the top menu.

  • After you click on websites, you will see the websites that are present in your hosting account.
  • Now, click on manage for the website you want to install WordPress on.

  • Go to file manager

  • Here you will see a folder named public_html, double click on it and you will enter the folder and see default.php file, this is where you have to upload the zip file you downloaded from wordpress.org as showed earlier.

  • After you double click on public_html folder, click on update on the top right, Select file and select the zip file you downloaded.
  • Once the zip file is uploaded, right click on the zip file and click on extract and select a path to extract which will be public_html.
  • When it is extracted, you will see a folder called WordPress, so now delete the zip file that you uploaded.
  • Go to the WordPress folder and press ctrl + a OR cmd + a and select all the files and move them in the public_html folder directly.
  • Once the files are moves, delete the WordPress folder as it now empty and we no more need it.
  • In the list of files you will see a file with the name “wp-config-sample.php”, rename this particular file to “wp-config.php”.
  • Go to your website domain and you should see a Database error, if you see something else make sure to refollow the steps as you might have missed something.

 

3. Create a new Database

  • To create a database we again go to our Hostinger dashboard from there now we click on database

  • You will now have to fill in all the below details and make sure you copy your password and store it in a safe place as we will need it in a while.

  • After you entered all the information and saved the password click on CREATE
  • Your database is now created and if you scroll down on the same page you will be able to see a new Database being created.

 

4. Connect Database with the WordPress you installed

  • Now again go the file manager where you uploaded the files.
  • Open the file you renamed – “wp-config.php”
  • There you will find options to write database name, database user and passoword.

  • Go back to the database you created, you will find  name and user on that page.

  • The left is the Database name and the right one is the Database username. Copy the values under them and paste them in the wp-config file in their respective places and save the wp-config file once you finish adding all the above 3.

 

Now refresh the website and tada, you can now install WordPress and start working!
